Electrically Isolated Tendons in European Transportation Structures

In May 2019 the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) conducted a Global Benchmarking Program (GBP) study to learn how Italy and Switzerland have successfully used electrically isolated tendons (EIT), an innovative non-destructive evaluation technology that offers the ability to validate the encapsulation integrity (construction quality) and remotely monitor long-term tendon condition with meaningful and interpretable data.  The study team included representatives from FHWA, Minnesota DOT, Texas DOT, the American Segmental Bridge Institute, and the Post-Tensioning Institute.

The webinar will feature U.S. and international experts that will provide an overview of EIT technology and findings from the GBP study, including two key findings that can make an immediate beneficial impact on current U.S. state of practice.

The brochure with a link to the Study Report, registration, as well as contact for questions can be downloaded by clicking on brochure.
